When we purchased our home about two years ago, it was a ‘used’ home and came fully stocked with all of the necessary appliances, one of those appliances being a Maytag French Door Refrigerator. Luckily, when we were looking for homes, we actually did have a preference towards the Maytag French Door Refrigerator simply because it was the up and popular style of the time. We were coming from having a traditional one door, freezer on top style refrigerator so anything that appeared newer was perfect for us! Since we moved into the home, we realized that this Maytag French Door Refrigerator offers so much more room than we were used to previously! This thing is HUGE! The style of ours has filtered water that you get when you open the left door and press a tiny rubber button on the inside left of the refrigerator. Do not worry. This faucet of sorts does not interfere with storage space of foods and is actually kind of hard to misuse and hence wind up with water all over the place! Both of those features make this a lovely pick for us as often times throughout the day I find myself filling up my cup of water straight from the inside of the Maytag French Door Refrigerator. You could use that same filtered water to fill up a pitcher and use that but then the pitcher just takes up space in the refrigerator that you would likely want to use to store some other food.
Now onto the Maytag French Door Refrigerator’s French door feature! This definitely took some getting used to for me seeing as I had grown up with the single door style and was used to just opening and closing the fridge with ease. With the French door style, sometimes I find that if I am getting a food out from only the right side, then I may have to open both sides just to get the doors to close properly whenever I am done. So, in that respect it takes operation of a refrigerator from one step up to two steps in that specific situation. So, I have found that I just tend to now always open both sides regardless of which foods I am gathering (which side of the fridge they are on) and am always closing both sides. On occasion, I may just need something that is accessible from the left side of the Maytag French Door Refrigerator, in which case, you can just open the left side door and close it with ease. That is another area of interest.
The Maytag French Door Refrigerator provides ease in the refrigerator arena of our daily lives. Opening and closing the doors is simple because the doors are not overly heavy and there is a sound associated whenever you close the doors (just the typical vacuum type sound), so you will not close the doors and inadvertently leave one wide open – you would be able to sense/hear that it is wide open. Subsequently you would not be losing energy!
Also, our Maytag French Door Refrigerator comes with the freezer down below the main refrigerator part, which was something to get used to but definitely preferred! It is super easy to use as it is essentially in the shape of a large pullout drawer, the ice maker works wonderfully and it stores lots of freezer goods that you can see when you pull the drawer out! So with that, too, less food gets wasted since you see it all whenever you open the freezer whereas with old style refrigerators, you may have ice cream from 1910 in the very depths of the freezer!
